Connecting Food to People™ Since 1976

Bringing Purpose to Food Packaging

Previously known as Packaging Sales and Service, Nextera Packaging entered the packaging world in 1976 via vending. As Nextera grew, many of our competitors continued to add more categories of packaging to their offerings. Nextera chose a different path. We chose specialization and doubled down on food. By doing so, we not only positioned ourselves as a foremost expert in food packaging but discovered our purpose in the process.

Food is Magnetic

From football games to family gatherings, food is present and it’s magnetic. It draws people to it and has the profound ability to forge traditions, share culture, and spur connection. However, for food to have this impact, it must get to people.

Packaging Connects Food to People

Packaging helps connect food to people. Without products like ovenable trays and tamper-evident containers, much of the food we rely on can’t make it to store shelves or our tables. It’s why at Nextera, each time we supply packaging, recommend a new product, or solve a challenge with a client, we believe we’re not just doing our jobs, but living out a greater purpose.

Where Purpose Meets Passion

At Nextera, we connect food to people through beautiful, safe, and sustainable packaging. It’s our passion, and we’re proud to say it’s our purpose too.

Culture and Value Pillars

We believe a healthy company culture and strong shared values go hand in hand with good business.
These pillars are not afterthoughts to us, but essential investments that guide our actions and decisions.

A Culture of Honor

Unlike food packaging, we can’t manufacture a healthy company culture. However, we can say “this is the kind of company we want to be” and develop values and habits that support that. At Nextera, we want to be an inclusive company known for a Culture of Honor. From clients to vendors to team members, we want every person we have contact with to feel genuinely seen, valued, and respected.

Four Shared Values

Part inspiration, part accountability, part habit builders, our values keep our heads up and looking for ways we can be difference makers in our relationships with clients, vendors, fellow team members, and even ourselves. When these values are lived out, we believe a Culture of Honor will follow naturally.

  • Two hands with heart in the middle.

    Care for People

When people are seen, respected, and appreciated, amazing things happen.

  • Rocket taking off.

    Risk for Better

Daring to innovate is not safe. It’s a risk for better. And we take that risk.

  • Shaking hands.

    Leave the Ego

We are humble with our attitudes, generous with our help, and leave our egos at the door.

  • Outlined star.

    Seek the Good

We seek out opportunities to do good—even when they’re inconvenient.

Nonprofit Partnership

Our purpose, connecting food to people, doesn’t stop at the end of the workday. Over the next year, Nextera will be working to forge ongoing partnerships with nonprofits working to end hunger in our community by connecting food to people who need it most.
